Domestic & Family Law Associate Attorney
Location: Leesburg, VA (On-Site)

Salary: $100,000-$170,000/year
Our client, Simms Showers LLP, a growing Northern Virginia and Maryland-based law firm, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their Domestic and Family Law practice group. As their recruitment partner, we are assisting them in finding a skilled and compassionate attorney who thrives in a collaborative, faith-driven environment.
About the Role:The Associate Attorney will manage all aspects of domestic and family law cases, providing excellent client service while working alongside a team of experienced litigators. This position offers hands-on mentorship, a supportive culture, and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of domestic and family law matters, including consultations, pleadings, discovery, negotiations, and litigation.
Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Draft motions, petitions, and agreements with accuracy and attention to detail.
Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Provide mentorship to junior associates and contribute to firm-wide collaboration.
Participate in business development and community engagement activities.
Maintain compliance with all ethical standards and firm policies.
Requirements:
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active Virginia Bar License.
Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law.
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
Willingness to travel to courts throughout Northern Virginia.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of family law experience.
Prior judicial clerkship experience.
Jury trial and courtroom experience.
