Our client, Saint Mary’s Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Intake & Assessment Clinician to join their team. About the Role:The Intake & Assessment Clinician evaluates patients for admission to the Behavioral Health Unit, conducts crisis assessments, and collaborates with medical staff to ensure safe, effective treatment. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and present findings to medical staff.
Provide compassionate care across all age groups while maintaining confidentiality.
Understand and apply legal requirements related to psychiatric admissions.
Manage patient transfers, authorizations, and support care reviews.
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Be available to cover shifts as needed to meet unit demands.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work or related field (or state-required degree/license).
Licensure in independent practice: LMFT, LPC, LCSW, RN, LPN, or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.
Crisis counseling and evaluation experience preferred.
