Licensed Funeral Director – York, PA
Our client, Wagner-Elfner & Harkins Funeral Home and Cremation Services, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Funeral Director to join their dedicated team in York, Pennsylvania.
This well-established, family-focused funeral home has built a strong reputation for professionalism, empathy, and exceptional care to the families they serve—both in Pennsylvania and across nearby Maryland.
About the Role: The Funeral Director will work closely with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services with dignity and respect. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Pennsylvania (required) and Maryland (highly preferred), as approximately 60% of the firm’s service calls come from Maryland.
Key Responsibilities:
Meet with families to arrange and direct funeral services
Prepare and conduct services with professionalism and compassion
Ensure all documentation complies with state laws and regulations
Occasionally assist with embalming and preparation (a trade embalmer is available as needed)
Maintain exceptional attention to detail, organization, and quality of service
What We’re Looking For:
Licensed Funeral Director (PA required; MD strongly preferred)
Proven experience in funeral directing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compassionate, professional, and reliable demeanor
High level of organization and emotional intelligence
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 (based on experience)
