Our client, MoonBrew (formerly NoonBrew), a fast-growing sleep supplement company based in New York City, is seeking an experienced and innovative Manager of Research & Development (R&D) to join their team.

About the Role: The Manager of R&D will be a visionary leader responsible for driving product innovation, optimization, and formulation excellence. This is a hands-on position involving lab work, testing, ingredient research, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, manufacturing, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead formulation development and optimization across MoonBrew’s product portfolio.
Collaborate with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and flavor houses to advance product development.
Develop and maintain ingredient specification libraries and data documentation.
Conduct sensory evaluations to assess flavor, texture, and solubility.
Analyze consumer feedback to inform new formulations and improvements.
Research emerging ingredients, technologies, and wellness trends.
Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high-quality lab standards.
Collaborate with operations to scale formulations from benchtop to production.
What You’ll Bring:
3+ years’ industry experience in food science, nutrition, or supplement R&D.
Expertise in sleep-aid or dietary supplement development preferred.
Strong curiosity and drive to innovate using new food technologies.
Experience partnering with external vendors and flavor houses.
Excellent data-driven decision-making, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Collaborative, humble, and proactive mindset—thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.
The Offer:
Salary: $80,000–$120,000 (based on experience)
